“La Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciencies” is the largest recreational and cultural complex of its characteristics in Europe, and was conceived as an open window from Valencia to the world. It is situated approximately 140 km to the south of Peñiscola, a few minutes from the historic centre of the city of Valencia.

Art and science, important fields of human knowledge make up this 350,000 m2 zone composed of four large areas:

• “L’Hemisferic”, with Imax Dome, Planetarium and Laserium Cinema shows.
• “El Museo de les Ciencies Principe Felipe” - Prince Philip Science Museum – to learn about the advances in science and technology in an enjoyable manner.
• “L’Oceanografic”, an underwater city for you to discover the secrets of the underwater world.
• “El Palau de les Arts” – the Palace of Arts – where artistic, musical and theatre representations are hosted.

The consolidated sun and beach tourism of the Valencia community is complemented with this complex, which develops the cultural and urban tourism more related to ideas of the leisure revolution since through it, the public can take advantage of their free time and learn whilst enjoying themselves.

It is an avant-garde work of architecture in the world destined to become the emblem of the XXI Century of the city of Valencia and the whole Valencia Community.
